Delhi government converts state government school into Covid-19 hospitalon Apr 19, 2021 Keeping in view of the prevailing situation in our country of Covid-19 surge, the Delhi government has taken an initiative and converted one of the state government schools into Covid-19 hospital with 125 beds. The converted school is situated at Rouse Avenue, with the help of an NGO- doctor. The Delhi government aims to provide sufficient facilities to the Covid-19 patients, as the cases are rapidly rising in the country.

According to the official Twitter statement released by the Directorate of Education, Delhi, Our schools have served as shelters and food & ration distribution centres during the Covid crisis.” “#DelhiGovtSchool Rouse Avenue is being converted to Covid hospital with 125 beds. The Delhi government has taken other vital steps too, including, 2000 more beds been arranged in Delhi government hospitals. Out of these, 200 beds will be ventilator beds, and over 700 will be ICU beds. As of now, the government has converted one government school to a Covid hospital with 125 beds. Depending on the future situation and requirements, CM may take further steps to convert other schools as well into Covid-19 hospitals. However, the schools, colleges, and other educational institutions in Delhi will remain closed until further notice. Source: indiatoday
